Kane scored a goal and missed a penalty in Bayern's thumping win over Tottenham on Thursday as he came up against some familiar faces at the Allianz Arena. Following the victory, the 32-year-old said his emotions were heightened after playing against a side he had called his own for the vast majority of his career.

WHAT KANE SAID
He said after the match: "It was a really good performance, we were dominant from start to finish. Today we've taken another step in the right direction. Of course it was a little bit emotional for me given the long time I spent at Spurs. But once you're on the pitch, it's about doing your best for the club you're playing for. It feels good to be back at the Allianz."

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Kane swapped Bayern for Tottenham in an emotional move two years ago after nearly two decades at the north London team. The move paid dividends as the German giants won the Bundesliga title last season, for Kane's first-ever major trophy, while Spurs lifted the Europa League. But going by this result, and more, the England captain made the right move in heading to Bavaria.

WHAT NEXT?
Bayern and Kane will hope to build on this positive result when they take on Grasshoppers in their final pre-season game on Tuesday. The striker then has a chance to lift more silverware when they lock horns with Stuttgart on August 16.Â
