A disheartened English side returned to the UK from Berlin on Monday after going down in yet another European Championship final. After failing to lift their first-ever Euros title in 2021 at Wembley, Gareth Southgate's side had one more opportunity to end their decades-long trophy drought as they reached the final of Euro 2024, however, they went down 2-1 against Spain on Sunday.

The Three Lions faced criticism right from the beginning of the tournament due to their poor style of play. Despite having one of the strongest squads in the competition, their performance on the pitch did not live up to the expectations. WHAT NEXT?
There have been speculations over Southgate's future as England boss and according to talkSPORT, the manager is considering leaving his role after eight years in charge. Newcastle boss Eddie Howe and former Chelsea coach Graham Potter are being considered as possible replacements for the outgoing manager.
