ToggleWHAT HAPPENED?
The German praised his team's performance and attitude and labelled their 3-0 win against Athletic Club in the last game of the season a "perfect farewell" to the campaign. Flick, who joined Barcelona last year, guided the Catalan giants to a domestic treble by winning La Liga, Copa del Rey and the Supercopa de Espana. However, they missed out on the Champions League after they lost 7-6 on aggregate to Inter in the semi-finals.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Flick's first season in charge saw Barcelona reclaim domestic dominance, as they finished ahead of Real Madrid in La Liga and beat them in the Copa del Rey and Supercopa finals. They will hope to go one better next season, though, by competing for the European crown and the German hopes the intensity they showed on Sunday can be replicated throughout the 2025-26 campaign.

WHAT FLICK SAID
Flick on his team's attitude: "It was great to see us competing at this level. It was a perfect match against one of the best teams in La Liga and in a great atmosphere. I loved everything I experienced and to end the season like this. At this level, ending the season like this is perfect. The level we showed is what I want to see next season. Athletic wanted to pressure us but couldn't."
