Manchester United have reportedly enquired about Sporting CP coach Ruben Amorim despite rumours he could succeed Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, Sporting manager Amorim is being considered as a possible replacement for Erik ten Hag at United if the Dutchman is sacked. He adds the Red Devils have put out the feelers for the 39-year-old, but are still sticking with Ten Hag for now. City are also monitoring Amorim's situation, with Guardiola out of contract next summer.

    Plettenberg adds Amorim is not planning to leave the Portuguese side this season but his contract – which runs until 2026 – includes a release clause next summer. It seems both Manchester club are keeping tabs on the young manager's situation. Replacing Guardiola or Ten Hag will be a huge task, for different reasons.
